Energy Access & Productive Use
Phaesun
Energy Access and Productive Use of Energy (PUE) remains the historical core and strategic anchor of the Alliance for Renewable Electrification (ARE).
Since its inception, ARE has supported the growth of private-sector-led electrification markets through policy advocacy, market intelligence, project facilitation, and donor-funded programmes covering solar home systems, mini-grids, productive use of energy, agro-processing, health and education electrification, and operations in fragile and crisis-affected contexts.
Under our 2026–2030 strategy, our emphasis shifts towards:
- Linking access solutions with local economic value creation;
- Strengthening the commercial viability and scalability of access and PUE companies;
- Positioning ARE members as preferred private-sector partners for governments, donors, foundations, and impact investors.
Over the coming years, ARE will continue to act as a neutral and credible industry platform supporting enabling frameworks for energy access and productive use.
