Gadgetronix – Kunduchi solar system (Tanzania)

Who, What & Where

  • GadgetroniX
  • Design, supply, and installation of a commercial grid-tied solar power system
  • Kunduchi Wet ‘N’ Wild Water Park, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

The Company

GadgetroniX is a leading distributor of globally renowned solar, water, security & surveillance, and communication equipment in Tanzania.

The company works with a highly skilled team of over seventy full-time expert technicians, supported by electrical and mechanical engineers, as well as quantity surveyors.

This strong technical foundation allows GadgetroniX to specialise in multiple sectors, including:

  • Communication systems
  • Energy systems
  • Water systems
  • Electric vehicles
  • Mobile signal boosters
  • Networking solutions
  • Security & surveillance systems

GadgetroniX also represents several well-recognised international brands, focusing on developing, testing, and promoting clean energy technologies and innovative solutions that empower both individuals and businesses.

The Challenge

Kunduchi Wet ‘N’ Wild Water Park required a large-scale, stable, and cost-efficient power solution to support its full operations.

The facility has high and continuous energy demand from:

  • Water park operations
  • Pumping systems
  • Guest facilities
  • Entertainment infrastructure

Relying solely on conventional grid power created challenges related to operational costs and energy stability, especially during peak usage periods.

A high-capacity commercial solar solution was needed to improve efficiency and reduce long-term electricity expenses.

The Solution

The Kunduchi grid-tied solar system was designed to deliver high-output renewable energy directly into the facility’s operations while remaining connected to the main grid.

The system ensures optimized energy generation, real-time monitoring, and efficient distribution across the entire water park.

System components:

  • Solar array: 200.91 kWp (362 × JA Solar MBB half-cell monocrystalline PV module– 555 W)
  • Grid-tied inverter: 2 × Fronius Tauro Eco 100.0-3-P (100kW) WLAN/LAN – 3P grid tie / PV inverter
  • Smart meter: 3 × Fronius TS 50kA-3 smart meter
  • Current transformers: 6 × smart meter CT A 200A
  • DC combiner box: 6 × Suntree SHLX-PV6/2 DC 6 way 2 outputs (1000V 20A fuse 63A disconnect)
  • Remote monitoring: Fronius Solar.web system
